SOWEGA Council on Aging is Hiring an ADRC Assistant Program Manager Near Albany, GA

Position Summary:

Under direct supervision of the ADRC Program Manager, the ADRC Assistant Program Manager provides support to leadership and assists in oversight of all ADRC programs as outlined in DCH/DHS/DAS policies; assists in ensuring all goals and initiatives are met in the most effective manner for the enhancement of all operations. Assists In ensuring core functions of the ADRC are carried out in compliance with State contracts.

*Note: All questions must be answered and skills tests completed to be considered for this position.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the ADRC Program Manager in organizing daily activities in alignment with state policies, the Area Plan, and other relevant initiatives.
  • Assist in providing support to various Initiatives program specialists per ADRC Manager’s direction.
  • Cross train on all ADRC positions and be available to step in for coverage as directed.
  • Perform intake, assessment, screening, and placement for older adults and people with disabilities in aging services programs in the 14-county Southwest Georgia region.
  • Conduct quarterly assessments of waiting list(s) for aging services to be provided to frail and/or disabled older adults, i.e., home-delivered meals, homemaker services, adult day care, respite care, and the Elderly Disabled Waiver Program.
  • Receive referrals and attempt initial outreach mail out letters within 24 hours and document on Excel spreadsheet.
  • Fulfill a customer service role, ensuring that the consumer experiences a welcoming atmosphere and consumer satisfaction is achieved.
  • Log all contacts and referrals into DDS database.
  • Attend all training events, agency meetings, and conferences required and/or hosted by DAS as required for the job role.
  • Aid in managing waitlists according to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the oversight of the ADRC counselor team to include ensuring daily optimal queue coverage, referrals, and other daily operational tasks to maintain an effective workflow to ensure programmatic goals and objectives are met. Make recommendations to the ADRC Program Manager, as necessary.
  • Assist in the process of returning voicemails to meet standards of promptness per policy.
  • Assist ADRC Program Manager in organizing ADRC Advisory Committee Meetings, including helping to schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and document minutes.
  • Help in compiling and submitting weekly reports on waiting lists and other relevant data to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Assist in maintaining production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards by identifying trends and implementing improvements.
  • Attend agency and other relevant external meetings as required, maintaining accurate records of attendance and agendas.
  • Aid in compiling and interpreting statistical data as required.
  • Assist in timely compilation and delivery of required reports to appropriate recipients according to organizational directives.
  • Maintain essential and confidential records as required by departmental procedures.
  • Exhibit proficiency in technology skills related to the required work, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and communication tools.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Knowledge: of aging services programs to include transportation, housing, insurance counseling, legal assistance, nutrition programs, and community-based in-home services. Also, must be familiar with computer software, survey and/or other information-gathering techniques, and database manipulation.

Skills: Conducting client assessments, research and information gathering techniques, counseling and interpersonal skills, training, excellent oral and written communication skills. Exhibit proficiency in technology skills related to the required work, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and communication tools. Ability to learn Information & Referral computer-based software.

Education: Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelors’ Degree in Social Work preferred. Bachelor of Science in Gerontology, Health Sciences, or related field acceptable.

Certification: AIRS (available after hire)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
