The Work You'll Do:

The Director of Accounting is responsible for the company's financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports. They will oversee the timely monthly close of the General Ledger (US region only) and reporting of financial results, coordination of audits, and the development of and compliance to internal controls. Additionally, this position includes responsibility for all daily activities for and development of a team of employees.

More specifically you will:

• Maintain the company's overall system of accounts, books and records on all company transactions and assets
• Assist with formulating the financial objectives and policies of the company and then prepare reports that outline the company's progress towards those objectives and financial position in terms of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and future operations
• Reviews and documents significant variances against prior periods. Identify potential risk areas for the business
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes and regulations.
• Ensures accurate and timely financials are in compliance with US GAAP standards with adherence to tight closing calendar. Identifies any areas of concern in financials for investigation and resolves
• Ensures financial accounts are properly supported and reconciled. This includes monthly review of balance sheet reconciliations.
• Reviews and ensures timely completion of internal financials and lead month end review calls for the US region.
• Responsible for establishing and ensuring compliance to internal controls.
• Full coordination of audit and the gathering of required audit information
• Directs the daily activities and the career development of team members. Be aware of, and comply with, all corporate policies
• Acts with integrity and demonstrates ethical behavior in all matters with all stakeholders
• Takes full responsibility for ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction
• Demonstrate initiative, drive and determination to achieve results, success and growth

What We Need From You:

• Strong and broad experience in accounting and ability to apply strong GAAP knowledge to business scenarios
• A high level of initiative and drive. Natural sense of ownership for projects and duties
• Communication skills for credibility at all levels of the organization
• Strong technical and computer skills.
• Professional accounting qualification, such as CPA or equivalent
• Experience in a management or leadership role
• Exposure to software revenue recognition a plus
• Moderate travel required to Sovos locations and events
• Due to client contractual obligations– the successful candidate will have to clear a background check and drug test
