We are seeking an Accountant. This is a full-time position with the schedule of 8A to 4:30P at our Lafayette location.

This position will be responsible for preparing and maintaining a complete set of files on original source documentation, journals, ledgers, statistical and internal and external financial and regulatory reporting for cash receipts, Accounts Receivable, and general accounting functions in accordance with established Cooperative Accounting Policies and procedures, RUS Uniform System of Accounts, GAAP, and applicable Federal and State Regulations.

Specific major accounting areas/functions that may be assigned are:

• Tax Reporting
• Audit Schedules
• Internal Auditing
• Depreciation
• Maintain all subsidiary accounting information
• Monthly Board Report Analyses and Board Reports
• Payroll and payroll reporting
• Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank Reconciliation, Fixed Asset Accounting
• Monthly General Ledger Entries and Fixed Recurring entries
• Work Order Accounting
• Budget

To qualify, candidates must have a college degree in Accounting with some experience in accounting or related field.

Candidates must be:

• Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Database Management Software, Adobe, and QuickBooks. Must be
• Familiar with or willing to train on the RUS Uniform System of Accounting.
• have comprehensive knowledge of cash receipts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and other related accounting processes.
• Capable of designing and implementing basic accounting worksheets, files, and reports.
