Job description – Chart Prep

SUMMARY

Prepares charts for upcoming appointments for multiple providers.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Print and fill out intake forms for each provider’s daily schedule if required
• Obtain records from multiple portals
• Request records via EMR/fax from other provider offices
• Import/enter patient information, procedures, and past medical/surgical history into the chart
• Process and file labs/imaging/reports into EMR
• Call patients to obtain information to request records
• Review schedules for changes daily
• Process record of care documents
• Import records from ELL-KAY into Athena
• Review and locate reports for outstanding orders before the appointment
• Call to remind patients of outstanding orders
• Confirm record sharing for new patients

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to:
• type with accuracy
• work with a computer
• communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• have experience with EMR systems
• sit for long periods
• be knowledgeable regarding medical terminology

PREFERRED

• Able to work with multiple programs/EMR systems
• Familiar with Athena and Centricity
• Knowledge of lab, imaging, and GI terminology
