As the Clinical Director at Southwest Eye Consultants in the vibrant Four Corners Area, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring exceptional patient care and operational efficiency within our esteemed practice. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will oversee clinical operations, set and maintain standards of care, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

Clinical Practice and Leadership:

  • Collaborate closely with Clinical Managers and Coordinators to oversee the daily operations and delivery of patient care services across our clinics.
  • Conduct regular meetings to enhance patient, provider, and staff satisfaction while identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyze clinical practices to optimize quality, safety, and efficiency, ensuring patient-centered care at all times.
  • Maintain strict compliance with clinical policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Spearhead the implementation and training of cutting-edge ophthalmic equipment, prioritizing innovation in patient care.
  • Manage clinical ordering, inventory, and budgetary responsibilities, optimizing resource utilization.
  • Provide timely reports and complete regulatory documentation as necessary.

Clinical Staff Oversight:

  • Lead recruitment, retention, and professional development initiatives for clinical staff, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.
  • Conduct comprehensive training programs for all clinical staff members, ensuring proficiency and compliance.
  • Oversee staffing across all locations, ensuring adequate coverage for seamless operations.
  • Review and approve payroll for clinical staff, maintaining accuracy and transparency.
  • Monitor and assess staff competencies, providing ongoing feedback and support.
  • Step in as a senior technician when necessary, demonstrating hands-on leadership.

Personnel Management:

  • Collaborate with department heads to uphold service excellence and deliver quality patient care.
  • Foster effective communication channels, resolving conflicts promptly and respectfully.
  • Address recurring issues promptly, escalating when necessary to HR or senior management.
  • Coordinate with accounting to manage clinic and contact lens supply orders efficiently.
  • Facilitate meetings with physicians to introduce and evaluate new ophthalmic products.

Qualifications/ Skills:

  • Exceptional interpersonal, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities to tackle complex logistical and patient care challenges.
  • Proven leadership capabilities, with a knack for motivating and supervising teams.
  • Ability to cultivate collaborative relationships with providers and colleagues.
  • High emotional intelligence, enabling nuanced problem resolution and perspective-taking.

Education/ Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum: High School Diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a COA or COT.
  • Minimum of 4 years in a leadership role within a clinical setting.
