Summary:
The Alumni Coordinator plays a key role in advancing the mission, vision, and philosophy of Southwest Christian School within the school and extended community. This role will have involvement within the daily life of both campuses (PK-6 and 7-12) and will be responsible for cultivating relationships with past, present, and future alumni of the School by identifying, engaging, supporting, and strengthening the alumni network and a continued sense of pride in SCS. The Alumni Coordinator will collaborate and work closely with the SCS Alumni Council and assist with special events, such as reunions and Homecoming, to further involve connected alumni and reconnect missing alumni for Southwest Christian School's mission. The Alumni Coordinator will be the shepherd for the Legacy Kids program to increase the involvement of our multi-generational families.

  • Believe the Bible to be inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God - our standard for faith and practice
  • Believe and actively support the School's statement of faith
  • Demonstrate a desire for spiritual growth as evidenced by prayer life, Bible study, and spiritual outreach to others
  • Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others (Luke 6:40)
  • Actively participate in a local Bible-believing church
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Communications, Public Relations, Education)
  • Alumni of SCS are highly desired in this role due to the perspective they hold in our community; identifying with SCS stakeholders is a key component of this role
  • Experience in event planning or project management is strongly preferred
  • Must be a confident, personal communicator, able to build relationships and encourage a "Forever Eagle" family feel
  • Must be knowledgeable about leveraging the power of social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) to establish and deepen connections across diverse age demographics
  • Possess evidence of other adequate preparation, background, or experience as determined by the school administrator and/or hiring committee
Position Responsibilties
  • Aligns alumni engagement goals to the overall mission, branding, and school goals
  • Collaborates with the SCS Alumni Council to develop and execute strategies to engage alumni and encourage their participation in the School's activities and initiatives
  • Maintains accurate and comprehensive alumni records within Almabase (alumni management software)
  • Regularly communicates with alumni through a variety of channels (social media, email, in-person)
  • Plans and executes a variety of alumni events (networking events, Homecoming, etc.) from start to finish, including logistics, catering, onsite management during the event, and evaluation afterward
  • Partners with relevant school departments to ensure strong bonds are established and maintained with alumni

  • Is prepared each day, responding to unforeseen challenges and situations with the proper attitude and action
  • Demonstrate sensitivity toward school and community stakeholders with an ability to interact effectively with all groups
  • Understand the importance of discernment, discretion, and confidentiality in the operation of the school
  • Serve as a communication liaison between administration and the communities served to ensure the goals and direction of the school are clearly stated and aligned with the mission of the school

The roley may also require evening and weekend work activities to support events and activities planned and managed by the Advancement Department.
