Southwest Block is currently looking for individuals who promote a team atmosphere with a NO job is too hard or dirty to preform attitude. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to work Monday-Friday with possible overtime.

Rate of Pay: $18-20 dependent on experience

Diesel Mechanic’s primary responsibility is to perform functions associated with all manufacturing fabrication. Service all forklifts, loaders, and Kenworth tractors. Make repairs on forklifts, and loaders. When no equipment repairs/service required – the job will require you to assist in the manufacturing plant.

You will receive training and instructions for production job and are expected to follow and master all phases of a production position to advance to the next level. The new candidate is expected to integrate well with the existing team on activities such as; working anywhere in the production line, troubleshooting and turning wrenches, as needed, reviewing quality control at all times.

Skills and Experience:

1. 3 years of diesel mechanic experience

2. Proven knowledge of good manufacturing practices and experience

3. Understanding of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills

4. Forklift and Heavy Equipment operation

5. Knowledge of PLC helpful

6. Knowledge of Lock Out/Tag Out

7. Hydraulic knowledge

Physical Requirements:

1. Majority of time standing and walking manufacture areas

2. Ability to lift, move and handle minimum of 50 lbs.

3. Ability to move safely around manufacturing environment

4. Ability to pass respirator and PIP equipment test

5. Must wear ear protection when applicable

6. All other duties as requested
