IT Systems/Server Engineer

Position Summary:

This position requires a strong technical knowledge of servers both physical and virtual, backup systems, Microsoft products including operating systems and Exchange, hardware installation and maintenance, software deployment and maintenance, and related equipment operations. A good understanding of Credit Union industry standards along with solid problem-solving skills are critical to the successful execution of this position. Incumbent can resolve all routine operating problems. Proactively takes on tasks outside of realm of expertise and knows where to go to look for answers.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Responsible for performing server administration duties (physical and virtual with VMware)
• Desktop PCs and peripheral equipment installation, configuration, patch management and maintenance, software licensing, backup systems, and resolving technical problems.
• Installs and/or upgrades 3rd party software including Microsoft Windows and Office, antivirus, Credit Union core Datasafe and more.
• Monitors hardware health, device inventory, domain infrastructure (Active Directory), email and communication systems, and performs regular access control audits on all systems.
• Provides technical support to end users, answers questions, and prepares training sessions as needed.
• Maintains activity logs and makes recommendations for new products.
• Oversees daily processing and corrects processing errors on core while escalating issues with vendor as required.
• Identify significant problems and recurring errors in all systems.
• Takes the lead on suggesting new products and enhancements that will benefit the department.
• All qualified candidates will need to pass a credit and background check

Experience Required:

• 3 years of experience in Windows server design and administration using Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 Technologies.
• 3 years of experience with Active Directory, IIS, scripting, DHCP, and DNS
• 3 years of experience with Dell Hardware
• Demonstrated ability to succeed in demand-driven, unstructured environments
• Experience in establishing/setting/enforcing strong standards/procedures/processes
• Consistent customer care, quality standards and reporting requirements are core competencies of the position
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and fluctuations in workflow
• Must be able to field incoming help requests via all communication channels and effectively understand the problem and resolve.
• Financial industry experience preferred but not required
• Systems Engineer functions are performed effectively and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• End users are well supported. Software and hardware problems are carefully reviewed and promptly resolved.
• Undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
