About the Position

Under the supervision of Los Sures Director of Finance, and in collaboration with the financial team, the Grant Accountant will provide day to day financial support for the grants and contracts portfolios.

Salary range is $44,000 -$45,760

KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Prepare accurate and timely grants financial reports and funder invoices for review by the Director of Finance and in line with various award/contract reporting requirements.
  • Reconcile and keep track of funder invoices for multi-year grants against approved budgets and identifying, communicating, and rectifying billing discrepancies
  • Ensures correct allocation of staff time and other program costs to grants portfolio.
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of allocable charges and other expenses.
  • Maintain the finance calendar to track financial reports and invoicing deadlines.
  • Prepare and post month-end Journal entries including the Payroll Journal Entry, indirect costs, fringe benefits, rent allocation, telephone allocation and other shared costs.
  • Analyze grant expenses, investigate variances to advise the program directors on under/over expenditure trends and potential issues.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a grants/program finance role, preferably in a Non-Profit Organization.
  • Direct experience working with state or federal funded contract awards and sub awards from City funding agencies such as DFTA, DYCD, HPD, MOCJ, etc.
  • Detail oriented, but able to grasp the big picture.
  • Proven experience with Cost Allocation Methodologies & Indirect Cost Recovery
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Yardi accounting software is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
