Position Title:

Wealth Management & Trust Officer I 

FLSA Status:

Non-Exempt 

Reports to:

WM&T Regional Department Manager

Summary of the Job: This person serves as a junior level officer for Wealth Management & Trust clients.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages a book of business, with support from senior level officers, to include all account types, including but not limited to: investment management accounts, IRAs, custody accounts, trusts, and estates.
  • Handles all facets of client service and client account administration.
  • Prepares reports for client meetings.
  • Communicates directly with clients, attorneys, accountants, and others as needed.
  • Resolves client and other problems by coordinating activities and deadlines, preparing reports, and identifying solutions.
  • Processes account transactions as needed.
  • Completes account administrative and investment reviews as assigned.
  • Processes correspondence, files, and performs other specific duties as needed.
  • Functions effectively as a team player with all facets of the organization and outside partners.
  • Utilizes internal technology (software applications) to maximum advantage in the performance of duties.
  • Ensures all Southside policies and procedures are followed in the performance of duties.

Additional Functions:

  • Performs routine duties with minimal supervision using standard practices or procedures.
  • Complies with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in (B.A.) in business, finance or related area preferred.
  • Prior experience in wealth management and trust industry preferred.

  • Ability to define problems: collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Prioritize, organize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Physical Activity/Dexterity:

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers. Works with fingers and perceives attributes of objects and materials.

Physical Environment Demands: 

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to visit other internal and external offices, conference rooms, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and telephone.
  • Constantly positions self to operate on a computer.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with other people throughout each day. Must be able to exchange accurate information when conversing. 

Working Conditions/Environment:

  • Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
  • Moderate noise (e.g. business office with computers and printers, light traffic).

Work Schedule/Hours:

  • Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Available for overtime as needed.
