Southpaw Veterinary Clinic is Hiring an Associate Veterinarian - Overnight Urgent Care Near Omaha, NE

About this role: Southpaw Veterinary Clinic was founded with the simple focus of providing family-oriented veterinary care for ALL pets. This position exists to provide excellent veterinary care for the client, animals and the Omaha community. Southpaw Veterinary Clinic is independently owned by Dr. Shrader & Dr. Lackovic, who value providing the highest quality medical care to patients while helping clients feel like they are informed and involved in their pet's care plan.

Southpaw Veterinary Clinic is featured frequently on Tiktok, Instagram, and other social media platforms through Dr. Shrader's non-traditional animal care program. The successful candidate for this position will be excited to learn, will thrive on variety, and will support and encourage a fun, dynamic, and family-like atmosphere.

We are seeking an Associate Veterinarian that is energetic, detail oriented, exited to learn, and ready to dive into the job.

Our practice sees dogs, cats, and non-traditional pets (birds, reptiles, mammals, amphibians, fish, and invertebrates). We provide farm and house call opportunities for certain non-traditional pets (large hoofstock, pot-bellied pigs, large tortoises, kangaroos, etc) The successful candidate for this position will have both an educational and experiential background in dogs and cats with exotic patient experience preferred. On the job supplementary training will be provided in non-traditional patient care by Dr Trent Shrader.

Our current hours are Monday- Friday 8am- 6pm, Saturday- Sunday 8am-5pm. This position will be overnights, working 10pm - 8am, working 4 days one week and 3 days the next.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications: Nebraska Veterinary License (Required) - Certification from other states will be accepted but candidate will need to obtain NE state certification within 6 months of moving/starting employment.

Required Skills: Manage Cases \ Client Communication \ Animal Handling \ IV and IO Catheter Placement \ IM, IV, IO, and SQ Injections \ Laboratory Diagnostics \ Radiology \ Medication Preparation \ Hospitalized Patient Care \ Surgical Assistance \ Hospital Maintenance

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in administering and monitoring anesthesia, performing radiographs, dental prophylaxis, and client education
Have excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain and use ordinary and exotic specialty medical equipment.
Be physically able to handle, restrain and provide medical services to domestic animals.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range:
$130,000 - $135,000
