Southland Physical Therapy is Hiring a Physical Therapy Aide Near Santa Ana, CA

Fast paced physical therapy clinic, located in Santa Ana, is seeking an energetic, dynamic candidate to join our team. To succeed in this position, the ideal candidate will be able to juggle multiple patients with a positive attitude and most importantly possess the desire to help others get well.

Bilingual Spanish speaker required.

Candidates with degrees or pursuing sports medicine, Kinesiology, pre-PT, pre-PTA, ATC, rehab sciences are preferred.

The right candidate will be available Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am and 630pm. Set schedule will be determined upon hire.

Job purpose

The Physical Therapy Aide assists the Physical Therapist in providing quality rehabilitation services through therapeutic exercise instruction as well as modality assignment. This position maintains a crucial role in coordinating patient flow and ensuring proper therapeutic exercise implementation as prescribed by the Physical Therapist.

This position requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to coordinate the patient therapy. Our practice specializes in providing the highest quality of care in outpatient physical therapy. Our mission is to create the perfect patient experience to live happy and live well

Duties and responsibilities

Clinical

  • Maintain a welcoming, positive and empathetic attitude
  • Demonstrate, instruct, and assist patients with therapeutic exercises, as prescribed by the Physical Therapist
  • Provide patients high quality care and detailed attention to their physical therapy program
  • Perform weekly/daily cleaning tasks for the gym and treatment rooms (common areas/restrooms/other facilities)
  • Practice discretion and integrity in all job-related activities
  • Train volunteers on their duties as set forth in the Volunteer Manual

Administrative/Facilities

  • Communicate effectively with clinical and front office staff to ensure efficient patient flow from the lobby to treatment rooms as well as treatment rooms to the gym floor
  • Communicate with management and/or therapists with any concerns regarding patient care
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and report any items in regards to safety of the PT equipment; repair equipment/machines if possible or notify management if extra repairs/replacements are needed
  • Check and verify the quality of electrodes for all stim units and H-waves ensuring they meet the standard of quality; change out as necessary
  • Organize supplies and equipment on the gym floor and treatment rooms to ensure they are stocked with supplies; notify the Clinic Manager or Office Manager when supplies are low and need to be ordered
  • Uphold standards and regulations set by HIPAA and Southland Physical Therapy.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have general knowledge of proper form/technique and cueing of physical therapy exercises.
  • Prior work experience as a Physical Therapy Aide
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to execute and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently
  • Available to work 15-30 hours a week
  • Flexibility to cover schedules when necessary

Preferred

  • Education relative to what physical therapy embodies, i.e. certificate/licensure for personal training or CSCS, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

Physical requirements

  • Physical Therapy Aides must have the ability to be on your feet for prolonged periods of time, lift moderate weight, and perform repetitive tasks which involves bending/squatting
