Amazing Kids Supervisor
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:15am – 1:15pm
Additional shifts available based on availability up 25 to 29 hours a week.
Requirements:
· Qualified candidate must have at least 3 years of childcare experience in a day care type setting
· Must have knowledge of Microsoft office programs
· Be at least 21 years old and hold a high school diploma
· Have effective written and verbal communication skills
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Communicate with parents
· Be available for questions or concerns
· Notify parents of any problems or difficulties
· Ask for photo identification for any parents/adults picking up a child if you do not recognize them
· Responsible for meeting all quality and safety standards in the program area
· Ensure the Asst. Membership Director is notified immediately of any safety issues
· Be a positive role model for children and other staff
· Be sure the program area is kept clean and free from potential hazards
· Follow the YMCA’s behavior management policy
· Focus on positive behaviors and helping children work through their difficulties
· Report any suspected cases of abuse and/or neglect to the Director immediately
· Orient staff on daily procedures and YMCA policies
· Complete all necessary paperwork
· Evaluate staff at least one time per year
· Handle program phone calls
· Ensure a proper staff to child ratio and find subs when necessary. In the event of a shift change, stay in the program area until your replacement arrives
· Plan activities according to the monthly/weekly themes and oversee implementation of these plans
· Attend all meetings/trainings as required
· Play a leadership role in training/mentoring other staff
· Support and promote YMCA family programs
· Foster a positive team atmosphere by addressing concerns directly with co-workers/supervisors, and working towards a positive solution to the matter
· Operate all programs with the safety of the participants in mind and abide by all applicable risk management policies
· Follow all Southington-Cheshire Community YMCA policies and procedures
· Serve as a YMCA ‘ambassador’ in the Southington community
· Perform other duties as assigned
· I will adhere to all policies and procedures related to child abuse prevention

· Satisfaction among children and their parents participating in the program
