Job Responsibilities:

• Process medical billing for outpatient behavioral health services in compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of patient billing information and insurance claims.
• Communicate effectively with insurance companies, patients, and other relevant parties to resolve billing issues and inquiries.
• Keep track of complex streams of work projects that could be in various states of completion.
• Collaborate with other members of the administrative and clinical team to ensure efficient billing practices and support the overall mission of SMHA.
• Stay updated on changes in billing regulations, codes, and procedures related to mental health services.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in medical billing, preferably in a mental health or healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in using billing software and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Alignment with the values and vision of SMHA, including a commitment to anti-oppressive, accessible care.
