Southern States Packaging Company is a leading manufacturer and supplier of converted paper and paperboard products to numerous domestic and international customers. Currently, we have an opening for a Chemical Operator.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detailed oriented person with exceptional interpersonal, and time management skills. This position works closely with the Coating Specialist to ensure reliable coating and adhesive production and inventory management.

Position Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 3 - 5 years of chemical production experience
  • Forklift Certified (preferred)
  • Availability to work from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient in basic math and percentages with use of a calculator
  • Self-starting attitude, able to work with little to no direction
  • Multitasker, produce multiple products at once

Job Description and Responsibilities Include:

  • Produce a wide variety of water-based adhesives and coatings utilizing computer generated batch tickets
  • Pumping material into mixing tanks (via touch screen)
  • Pouring bagged material into mixing tanks
  • Maintaining batch documentation
  • Packaging finished goods in totes or drums
  • Unloading and organizing raw materials via forklift
  • Maintaing a clean and safe work enviroment
