General Laborer
Job Description

NATURE OF WORK

This position consists of a range of operational duties. This position is responsible for cleaning work areas, operating small machines and keeping the work area clean. Position is also required to lift up to 50 lbs. and be able to follow directions.

This position reports directly to the assigned Manager and must be able to function with minimal supervision. Work in this position requires the ability to multi-task and fill in where required. This position may require additional work outside of the scope of this job description.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Graduate
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to make judgment and work safely
• Ability to work courteously with co-workers and others that utilize the facility
• Must be willing to work in inclement weather conditions to learn various types of recyclables.
• Automobile mechanical knowledge is a plus.

A positive attitude is essential.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

-Cleaning debris and parts out of the specified areas.

- Sorting and handling tires for resale.

- Work with other employees in the same area.

- Requires a lot of lifting and standing.

- Maintains work area and equipment in a safe and clean condition at all times.

- Keep the warehouse area clean and free of debris. Perform custodial duties when necessary.

- Will be required to work overtime, occasional weekends and during emergency conditions.

- Performs other duties as assigned.
