Transport Driver

Southern Medical Transportation is looking to fill several openings for Medical Transporters and Route Schedulers. This position will require you to transport various patients from their home to the doctor's office Monday through Friday within Baton Rouge, LA and Surrounding Parishes with your own personal vehicle (Must be 8 years old or newer). Our Company offers flexible scheduling and highly competitive pay.

Independent Contractors must use their own vehicle (4 door Sedan or Mini-Van - No Trucks or SUVs); have an excellent driving record and be able to pass a drug test.

Duties:
- Transport passengers to their destinations in a timely and efficient manner
- Provide excellent customer service to passengers, assisting with boarding and disembarking as needed
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance tasks
- Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and passenger counts

Experience:
- Previous experience in driving commercial vehicles such as school buses, paratransit vehicles, or limousines is preferred
- Must have a valid driver's license (Class D or above within 30 days of hire) and with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift heavy objects and assist passengers with mobility needs
- Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people. Very dependable with good judgement and ability to work under pressure.

-Must have internet access and printer at home in order to receive daily routes.
