Southern Maine Oral Surgery provides state of the art technology and compassionate care to patients in need of oral healthcare. Our practice is always looking for better ways to set the bar for excellent patient interaction and overall experience. Our goal is to exceed our patient’s expectations and provide a comfortable and pleasant solution for anyone that reaches out or visits our 3 locations. We have 5 surgeons that provide care for patients across the entire state of Maine. We are looking to expand our scheduling needs by implementing a designated group of driven individuals to maintain and coordinate our busy schedules. No experience is necessary, as we will train on the job but if you have experience, your wage will reflect that and we welcome your valuable input as we build our dream team.

We have 3 locations (Portland, Windham, and Biddeford). While this position is primarily based in our Portland location, occasionally travel to our Biddeford and Windham locations may be required during the training process.

General Job Description/Responsibilities:

• Handling all incoming calls for all 3 locations, triaging calls as needed and forwarding to proper departments.
• Scheduling of all new patient’s consultations and any incoming calls to schedule surgeries and follow-ups.
• Processing and triaging all voicemails that come through the practice.
• Handling all appointment recall reports and calling patients to schedule.
• Triaging calls coming in with general clinical pre and post operative questions.
• Answering calls regarding general billing and forwarding to appropriate department as needed, collecting payments over the phone as needed.
• Daily review of all incoming referrals for all offices and calling patients to schedule.
• Monitoring schedules for errors and scheduling conflicts. Adhering to individual doctor preferences.
• Processing cancelation requests from patients and attempting to convince patients to keep their appointments, rescheduling as needed.
• Providing excuse/doctor notes as needed and requested.
