A Day in The Life of Our General Manager
Your experience and knowledge of ALL restaurant operations should provide a solid foundation for appropriate business decisions. Those decisions are an extension of the owners for whom you are reporting to, you are accountable for all aspects of the operation and growth of the establishment. You play an essential role in leadership, your ability to positively coach and lead not only your management team but also both your culinary and front-of-house teams will show through their success. You are actively involved in recruiting, hiring, and training your future food service experts. As their mentor, you are not only tasked to create the freshest and most mouth-watering food but also develop those service experts that deliver Legendary service to every guest they encounter. Preparing proper schedules to meet the needs of the restaurant is imperative, guest service can never be diminished due to scheduling issues. You MUST be able to multi-task and maintain a detail-oriented focus to keep productivity, profitability, guest & staff safety, guest satisfaction, employee morale and the work culture as high as possible. Every day you create a customer-centric atmosphere where the guest feels at home, welcome and appreciated.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven success in a high-volume, quality oriented, family/sports bar environment as a General Manager or similar, and 3 years of experience managing P & L’s.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time (5 hours) and periodically lift up to
50lbs.
  • Work a flexible schedule as business needs dictate.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and oral.
  • Excellent math skills, strong computer skills, and ability to operate cash registers/drawers.
  • Manger Food Handler certification as well as alcohol awareness training preferred.
Skills Required
  • Strong knowledge of all back-of-house and front-of-house operations.
  • High-level leadership and communication skills. Must lead with professionalism and commit to team development.
  • Is a leader and mentor, ensures adherence to policies and procedures through demonstration and coaching.
  • Ability to promote a positive environment and develop strong professional relationships between departments.
  • Capable of meeting/exceeding company standards for food cost, beverage cost, and inventory results.
  • Invoicing and deposit reconciliation following restaurant policies and procedures.
  • Follows and coaches all local and federal food safety guidelines.
  • Ability to read sales reports to help determine inventory levels for both food and beverage.
  • Hiring, training, staff supervision including disciplinary measures when necessary, and staff performance evaluations.
  • Ability to effectively monitor and control cost and labor systems through proper labor forecasting and scheduling of the entire team.
  • Regardless of the situation and difficulty of the guest, remain calm and courteous while addressing guest complaints.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills, always fostering a positive attitude and culture.
  • Ability to forecast sales, budget, and drive sales of the establishment.
  • Capable of reading and analyzing data to promote successful restaurant operations,
  • Maintains staff and guest information security, including transaction and credit card information.
  • Does safety audits to determine items that need to be repaired, this includes equipment.
  • Maintains the POS system, beverage, kitchen equipment, and any related hardware cleaning and maintenance.
  • Assists owner (s) in marketing, special events, and holiday planning.
