POSITION SUMMARY: Coordinate and facilitate the Medicaid application process across multidisciplinary entities to obtain Medicaid eligibility for patients entitled to Medicaid for the purpose of attaining reimbursement for services provided by UNC Health Southeastern.
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Required: High school diploma with 2 years experience in a professional or healthcare related business office or similar experience in a Clinical setting such as an acute care hospital or Ambulatory Surgical Center. Incumbent must be proficient in the use of keyboard and basic computer applications.
Preferred: Above plus college level coursework in related field.
ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS : The possession of good interpersonal skills and good verbal, written, and electronic communications skills as well as basic computer skills and familiarity with internet & email are required. Incumbent requires an ability to communicate orally and have manual dexterity to handle keyboard and related operations. Frequent talking and hearing in person, via telephone, and via visual electronic data medium is required in order to perform these duties. A moderate amount of walking, sitting, and lifting is required. Incumbent must demonstrate competence in the use of equipment and application of procedures before being allowed to perform independently.
