Summary:

The Executive Director Non-Profit is responsible for the overall strategic direction, management, and growth of the organization. This role involves working closely with the Board of Directors, staff members, volunteers, donors, and the broader community to achieve the organization's mission and goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement strategic plans, based on data-driven analytics, projections, and financials.
  • Develop and oversee the annual budget, ensuring sound financial practices and fiscal responsibility.
  • Identify and secure funding opportunities, including grants, donations, and sponsorships.
  • Manage financial resources efficiently to support programmatic goals.
  • Ensure the organization is following relevant state and federal laws, and regulations with standard accounting procedures.
  • Cultivate excellent relationships with local media; provide oversight for the organization’s presence in social media.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, community partners, government agencies, and volunteers.
  • Represent the organization at public events, conferences, and meetings.
  • Prepares accurate and timely analyses that capture and communicate fundraising results, variances, and performance trends.
  • Sponsor and/or co-sponsor special events designed to promote the organization’s mission or other like-minded missions.
  • Work closely with the Board of Directors to provide regular updates, seek input, and collaborate on strategic decision-making.
  • Support board development and engagement efforts.
  • Develop and work with the Board of Directors, ensuring that Board committees and efforts are well-organized and funded.
  • Inform the Board routinely of internal organization matters, including relevant staffing, funding, and program success and priorities.
  • Develop and implement consistent policies, procedures, and operational reporting/metrics.
  • Coordinates and leads annual budget reviews, monthly and quarterly reviews, and regular forecast updates with the Board of Directors, staff, and other key stakeholders.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise staff members, fostering a positive work environment and professional development.
  • Ensure staff members are aligned with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Ensures that services and funding relationships are robust enough to meet or exceed strategic goals and objectives.
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors to advance the organization's mission and vision.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This position oversees staff.

Education/Experience

  • Graduate degree – Nonprofit Management, Business/Public Administration, Finance, Economics, Social Sciences, Marketing, Communications, or closed related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • 5-10 years successful senior leadership/management experience

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Proven leadership experience in the non-profit sector.
  • Strong financial management and fundraising skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and public speaking abilities.
  • Strategic thinking and planning skills.
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors.
  • Commitment to the organization's mission and values.
