We are looking for an experienced, fun, and friendly Veterinary Nurse to join our close knit team! Do you LOVE labs? Become a part of the mission at Southeastern Guide Dogs by providing high quality care to our world class Guide, Service, and Companion dogs in training. Our Medical Team is responsible for the care of all puppies and dogs living on campus, as well as our breeding colony, local puppy raisers, and client graduates.

Job duties

• Induce and monitor anesthesia for surgical procedures
• Dental prophylaxis and oral radiographs
• Digital radiographs
• Ear and skin cytology
• Fecal analysis
• In-house Idexx Chemistry, CBC, and UA machines
• Communicate with Puppy Raisers, Breeder Hosts, and program Graduates
• Communicate across campus status of medical holds and checks
• Mentor Vet Assistants, Canine Care Technicians, and visiting students
• Provide educational lectures across campus at cross departmental meetings
• Data entry of medical records
• Rotation with fellow Nurses to provide on-call medical services for whelps and dogs living on campus

Qualifications

• Credentialed Veterinary Technician preferred, equivalent OTJ experience will be considered
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work across various data platforms
