JOB SUMMARY

If you’ve got a green thumb, we’d love to add you to our growing team as Landscape Supervisor/Designer. Join us in cultivating and preserving the natural beauty of our campus, ensuring an impeccable first impression for potential donors and guests. 

Able to work with vendors to source plants and take inventory of plants on campus and the green house. Knowledge of landscape design and proper usage of various plants.

If this sounds like the job for you, check out the essential duties and responsibilities:

• Keep our plants healthy. You’ll maintain landscape, interior scape, and greenhouse plants, and:
  • Identify and treat pest infestations and fungal infections.
  • Operate power tools relating to mowing, edging, weeding, and blowing.
  • Properly mix and apply herbicides.
  • Diagnose nutrient deficiencies and add fertilizer as needed.
  • Diagnose issues in landscape (i.e. poor drainage, improper watering, incorrect light requirements, etc.)
  • Successfully identify plants, and their requirements.

• Keep our landscaping looking pretty. You’ll perform essential plant and landscape bed care tasks:
  • Trim and prune plants to ensure healthy growth and proper plant appearance.
  • Remove dead, damaged, or unwanted branches from trees. 
  • Remove degraded or dead plants as required.
  • Properly plant new plants as directed.
  • Remove and reapply mulch in planting beds.
  • Identify weeds and remove them in all landscaped areas.
  • Landscape design on projects for our 64-acre campus.

Education and/or Experience Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two years related experience, or one year certificate from college or technical school and one or more years of experience. 1-2 years landscape design. Able to work in all the elements of weather. Understands plant lists ,and what plants go in what areas for the best growth.
