Southeastern Guide Dogs is seeking a Coordinator to join our Puppy Academy Team!

Position is responsible for providing support to daily operations in Puppy Academy which includes Puppy Nursery, Puppy Kindergarten and Breeder Host Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with director to execute essential kennel flow and canine husbandry tasks for all Puppy Nursery and Puppy Kindergarten in Puppy Academy.
• Once a month on-call for whelps, kennel needs and Breeder Hosts.
• Coordinates with Puppy Academy Director to keep inventory and ordering current, this includes but not limited to dog food and treats, veterinary supplies, kennel cleaning supplies, puppy education supplies, dog enrichment supplies, Breeder Host Program items.
• Be point of contact for Puppy Academy volunteer helpers.
• Assist Director with volunteer communications.
• Assists with breeder host application process and guide applicants through each step – processing applications, answering applicant questions, completing home visits, etc.
• Collaborate with Breeder Host Manager to place breeders with applicant hosts who have completed the application process.
• Perform routine Breeder Host Program administrative communications, such as informing Fromm about new breeder hosts, connecting with Marketing for breeder spotlights, and submitting microchip transfer forms when breeder dogs retire.
• Assist with planning and execution of breeder host events such as annual appreciation brunch, educational events, etc.
• Be point of contact for Puppies-in-Flight.
• Transport dogs and puppies on an as needed basis.
• Coordination of dogs and puppies coming to and from campus from other schools as needed.
• Use educational opportunities available to develop proficiency in the areas listed on this job description and show ability to move beyond basic knowledge.
• Willing to assume additional responsibilities as directed by upper management.

• All employees are responsible for keeping the grounds of Southeastern Guide Dogs safe and clean. Reporting or fixing safety hazards, picking up trash and assisting our guests and volunteers are required of all employees.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Prior experience in a customer service role.
• Experience with scheduling and maintaining calendars.
• Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology a plus.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills required.
• Computer literacy a must.
