Southeast Missouri Behavioral Health is Hiring a Transporter Near Salem, MO

Position Purpose:

The Transporter must be able to safely transport clients as well as have the ability to physically assist clients in and out of the agency vehicle as needed. This person must have the ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs. Required to complete and maintain trip and vehicle maintenance logs in an accurate and timely manner. Must be able to manage client behavior for safe transportation of all passengers. This job classification is covered under the Agency’s Exposure Control Plan. Employees in this job classification may reasonably anticipate being occupationally exposed to infectious materials.

Qualifications:

The Transporter must have a minimum of a Missouri Class E driver’s license and may be required to obtain a Class C CDL. Must maintain and keep current the cited licenses. The transporter must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Applicant must have an acceptable driving record to agency insurance and management. Reliable judgment, good observation skills, dependability, forthright demeanor are required. Flexibility to perform shift work is essential. The ability to accurately record and communicate diverse client and transportation related information. Must respect and maintain confidentiality in all aspects of clients in treatment. Current certification in CPR/First aid is required or can be obtained within two weeks thereof.

Must pass background check provided for the agency by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Family Care Safety Registry which includes the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Department of Social Services, Department of Mental Health and Department of Health and Senior Services. Must not be on any “do not hire” list with the Department of Mental Health or the Missouri Division of Family Services. Must have reliable transportation.
