Location: position is located in New Orleans, LA

Starting Salary Range: $53,643 - $79,425, commensurate with experience

Position Description:

The BFH Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Educator Program Supervisor is responsible for setting and overseeing the standards for the ACE Educator Program (AEP), including developing and revising training modules and materials, providing programmatic support and supervision, and evaluating the AEP. This position provides internal support to BFH staff and programs to integrate awareness of childhood adversity and trauma-informed approaches into the Bureau’s work as needed. Direct Supervision is provided by BFH’s Trauma & Resilience Strategy Lead. The position is assigned to the Bureau of Family Health (BFH) within the Office of Public Health (OPH). Primary duties and responsibilities include:

 Develops Training Modules and Related Materials

o Maintains awareness and understanding of current scientific and evidence-based research to inform the development and revision of new and existing AEP training modules.

o Develops and revises new and existing AEP training modules that provide accessible, trauma-informed, public health-based education on childhood adversity, trauma, resilience, and related preventative and protective factors in collaboration with the BFH Trauma and Resilience Strategy (TRS) Manager, LDH’s Bureau of Media and Communications and BFH Communications (SPACE) team.  Coordinates and facilitates workgroup meetings to gather and integrate feedback on module development.  Facilitates and participates in the dissemination and training of new modules/materials to trained AEP volunteers in conjunction with the AEP Coordinator.

 Provides Programmatic Support and Supervision

o Facilitates communication with AEP Educators to provide learning opportunities on new data or resources, and programmatic reminders.

o Collaborates with the TRS Manager and other BFH staff to embed AEP trainings into BFH’s infrastructure.

o Hosts Peer Connection calls.

o Creates agenda, identifies and coordinates guest speakers, and learning opportunities.

o Assists the AEP Coordinator with planned Community of Practice activities when available.

o Develops external communications to grow awareness of the AEP and subject matter in coordination with BFH Communications.

o Contributes to efforts of the Whole Health Louisiana (WHL) Initiative including:

o Attending meetings and updating partners regarding the AEP, new modules, and training opportunities.

o Representing the interests of the AEP Educators, specifically regarding ways in which the AEP can collaborate with WHL partners to best support Educator efforts

throughout the state. o Facilitates routine supervision meetings with the AEP Program Coordinator and program support staff including public health associates and interns. o Maintains documentation and participates in required intern supervision activities. o Ensures all tasks assigned to program support staff are completed.

 Conducts Program Evaluation and Produces Reports, Data Products, and Publications

o Monitors and develops data collection methods that expand and advance data analysis and evaluation efforts to improve programmatic outcomes and meet reporting requirements.

o Conducts ongoing quality improvement to inform and adapt program delivery, monitoring, and evaluation as needed.

o Provides information on AEP progress per BFH-related report requests.

o Drafts annual report on program progress and evaluation.

 Other

o Participates in webinars and routine TA calls with federal funders, national workgroups, and statewide and community-based coalitions focused on prevention and in trainings related to childhood trauma and ACEs as identified.

o Participates in internal staff, project, and professional development meetings and trainings as requested or assigned.

o Serves as liaison for the AEP.

o Completes other duties as assigned, including supporting the coordination and management of Emergency Operations during activation and as needed between events.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED:

 A baccalaureate degree plus three years of professional-level experience in administrative services, education, public health, communications, public relations, social services, health services, or program coordination.

DESIRED:

 A master's degree with 1 year of experience in public health, counseling, social work, psychology, health administration, communications, or related field with a focus on children’s issues.

 Prior experience with program management, evaluation, and supervision are preferred.

 Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information in a non-technical manner to diverse cross-sector audiences.

 Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to provide program supervision and manage multiple tasks.

 Advanced ability to develop, revise, and produce research-backed content and training modules utilizing a health equity framework.

 Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 Ability to think proactively and function independently.

 Experience producing presentations, health communications and other educational tools.

 Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $53,643.00 - $79,425.00 per year
