Southeast Hospital Pharmacy | Cape Girardeau, MO | Full Time
- As patient care and/or hospital need dictates, both the assigned shift and work station may be changed by the department
- Assist pharmacists as needed
- Maintain on a routine basis the physical area of the Pharmacy
- Assist with checking in and stocking new shipments into inventory
- Responsible for the daily routine of packaging, dispensing, compounding medications, inventory management and distribution to patient areas
- Deliver floor stock medication, patient-specific medication, and emergency boxes and crash carts to patient areas
- Process and deliver controlled substances to patient care areas or hand off via pharmacy window
- Collect and return unused medications from patient care areas to pharmacy for appropriate processing
- Prepare I.V. admixtures using aseptic technique, and assist in clean room maintenance as assigned
- Knowledge to operate, restock, unload and maintain inventory of controlled substance manager and automated dispensing cabinets
- Package and label medication with proper information
- Answer telephone and window calls
- Knowledge to operate and understand pharmacy computer system
- Strong patient care orientation, self-motivated, good interpersonal communication and problem solving skills and the ability to work effectively as a team player
- Achieve a monthly audit of all medication and IV storage areas throughout the hospital. This audit includes removal and documentation of all outdated, defective, and non-authorized items Any other duties as needed to drive to the Vision, fulfill the Mission, and abide by the Values of the organization
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Minimum of 1 year Pharmacy Technician preferred
- Must either possess a valid MO Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration or be eligible for application Upon Hire
