Position Summary:
The Washington Elementary English Language Learner position will serve as a student-centered educatorwho is a learner and advocate for all students. Teacher will serve primarily English Language Learners. Teacher will establish collaborative & impactful relationships with colleagues,families, and students. Teacher will understand and model best instructional practices, serve as a member of a Professional Learning Community, and ensure high levels of student learning. Candidate must have a learner, inclusionary, and equity-focused mindset and see that their presence has an impact with students and our school environment. Position begins for the 2024-2025 school year. Position follows a co-teaching/pull-out model, collaborating with general education classroom teacher to meet students’ needs in the area of literacy, with an additional focus on phonics.

Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota Teaching License. Valid ELL/EL/ESL Minnesota Teaching License is desired but not required. Consistent and reliable attendance.

Bachelor's degree with coursework in Education, certificate and/or experience in the area of reading intervention education preferred, or related field and moderate experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Valid Minnesota Teaching License. Valid ELL/EL/ESL Minnesota Teaching License is desired but not required. Ideal candidate will have a strong equity background, believing and ensuring all kids learn at high levels. A strong demonstrated use of 21st Century learning strategies and approaches to ensure all learners achieve the highest levels. A strong background in literacy and language is preferred with in-depth understanding and application of language acquisition and WIDA Standards.

Bilingual skills in Spanish or Somali desired.
