Early Childhood Social Emotional Support Coach Roughly 20 hours a week days and hours will vary.
This position will provide a link between school and home promoting student social/emotional success. This position will include coaching staff, working with students one-on-one, in small groups, or in the classroom setting to develop problem-solving, conflict resolution and decision-making skills, and work to improve interpersonal relationships with their peers. This position will also provide support linking students and families to school and community based resources.
Job Responsibilities
Build 1:1 relationships and provide support to preschool students.
Hold small group age-appropriate social-emotional student support groups focused on friendship, behavior management, and social skills.
Create individualized plans to support for students/families based needs
Attend leadership meetings and problem-solving as requested.
Provide support to staff by coaching them in assisting students with positive behavior choices.
Communicate with parents regarding student care plans as needed.
Provide resources to staff and parents on developmentally appropriate practices in the areas of social/emotional development and mental health.
Act as a liaison between Early Childhood and Kindergarten teachers during their transition into kindergarten.
Other duties as assigned.
Supporting students registered in community education programs (Lake City Preschool, Tiger Time, Cub Care, Early Childhood Family Education, and Early Childhood Special Education).
Minimum Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education
Two years working with birth to 5 population
Considerable knowledge of the dynamics of individual and group behavior
Considerable knowledge of child and parent development
Considerable knowledge of the use of community resources
