Date Available: Preferred 06/01/2024 Job Description: Faribault Adult Education is seeking a full-time College and Career Navigator to oversee students enrolled in a variety of programs at the Faribault Education Center. This year-round position is on a 260-day contract and requires flexibility in scheduling based on student availability and includes one or two evenings per week based on student and program needs. Salary is $28.00/hour ($58,240/year), plus full benefits.
Essential Functions:
Guide and educate first-generation college students with college and career opportunities, supporting the student through the process from beginning to end.
Develop individualized employment and learning plans with adult education students.
Provide initial and ongoing coaching, mentoring, and support for each participant in finding and maintaining employment in a variety of career fields, including healthcare and education.
Assist participants with postsecondary applications and financial aid paperwork.
Solve problems and remove barriers for individuals pursuing postsecondary education.
Arrange career exploration opportunities and financial literacy workshops for English Language Learning students.
Plan and facilitate college tours and visits.
Administer and interpret objective and formalized assessments.
Implement student pre- and post-testing when needed to monitor progress.
Provide job search assistance and placement services to students.
Maintaina safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for diverse students, staff, families and community members at the Faribault Education Center.
Accurately enter data into databases, spreadsheets and other appropriate software.
Review data for accuracy and completeness, identifying and correcting any errors or discrepancies.
Update and maintain databases and student records to ensure they are current and up-to-date.
Use information databases to show student outcomes and meet program goals.
Conduct quality checks on data entered to ensure accuracy and integrity.
Implement grant requirements as needed.
Build relationships and trust with colleges, employer partners, program coordinators, and community partners to provide high-quality services to students and to leverage wraparound resources.
Attend local, regional and statewide meetings and professional development related to Adult Education programming.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
Must have a passion for working with diverse populations from historically marginalized populations, including previously incarcerated individuals.
Willingness to learn about different languages and cultures.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bilingual in English and Spanish and/or Somali.
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in the fields of social work or counseling.
Knowledge of healthcare and education systems or willingness to learn.
