Your Work Matters
How will you make a difference?

The Chemical Dependency Counselor is responsible for providing direct patient care, in compliance with Joint Commission and CMS standards of care and for adult and/or adolescent patients under circumstances of chemical dependency, substance abuse or addictions.

  • Interview patients to obtain substance abuse history.
  • Document findings in Dual Diagnosis portion of integrated assessment within 72 hours

of admission.

  • Communicate on a regular and timely basis with relevant members of the treatment team.
  • Conduct Patient/Family Education Groups, step-study groups, group activities and aftercare groups as assigned.
    • Define goals for special groups.
    • Utilize appropriate therapeutic intervention based on patient's plan of care.
    • Ensure sessions begin in a timely manner based on established criteria.
  • Conduct individual/family counseling as needed.

Your Experience Matters What we’re looking for:


Education:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work or related field preferred; Master’s Degree preferred.


Experience:
Experience and expertise in dual diagnosis, 12-step programs and substance abuse,

Additional Skill Requirements: Must possess substance abuse license/certificate as dictated by the State of Washington or equivalent. CPR/First Aid within the first 30 days of employment. Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training with in the first 30 days of employment.

Compensation:
