Seeking a detail-oriented, personable referral coordinator to process referrals and check-out patients.

Referral coordinator duties include creating referrals to various specialists, diagnostic studies and therapy centers using Availity or other portals depending on insurance. Communicating requirements for studies to the patient and coordinating scheduling and follow up. Experience with

Checking out duties include scheduling follow up appointments after patient has seen the healthcare provider, providing a written summary of the visit and communicating to the patient what referrals need to be arranged.

Other duties you will perform include helping out with answering phones and taking messages, returning patient calls and inquiries, scanning documents and complying with medical records requests from third-parties. Experience with Availity, insurance verification and E-clinicalworks or a similar EMR is preferred. You will receive training but basic experience with medical office work and medical terminology would be helpful.
