Salary Commensurate with Experience

Summary: Assists in directing and coordinating educational, administrative, and counseling activities of the elementary school by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist the principal in the overall administration of the school. Acts in place of the principal’s absence.
• Confers with teaching personnel, pupils, and parents on matters pertaining to educational, extra-curricular events.
• Shares responsibility with the principal for the supervision of the school.
• Shares responsibility with the principal for the supervision of non-certified personnel.
• Shares responsibility with the principal for evaluating certified and non-certified staff.
• Assumes responsibility in matters of student discipline. Reports student behavior problems to the parents. Records and keeps data on student behavior.
• Oversees the ordering and distribution of textbooks.
• Works collaboratively with the principal to keep her/him informed of impending difficulties, places for improvement, and continuing strengths in the school’s program.
• Works cooperatively with problems associated with transporting students to and from school.
• Assist in student supervision while children are loading and unloading buses, in the gym, in the classroom, in the cafeteria and playground. Supervise students on the bus to and from school as needed.
• Works with the principal and staff to review, coordinate, and improve curriculum and environment of the school.
• Cooperates in the conducting of safety inspections and safety drill practice. Plans and supervises fire drills and emergency preparedness program.
• Helps to create an atmosphere for learning and promoting morale and cooperation with students, teachers, and administration.
• Promotes parent participation, informational meetings, and involvement in educational activities provided for their children.
• Serves as a member of the corporation administrative team.
• Assumes responsibility for professional growth and development.
• Supervises the use of school facility for both academic and non-academic purposes.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable laws.
• Follows and implements the state and board approved school improvement plan with fidelity.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned which are necessary for the daily operation of the school program.

School Corporation Duties:

• Corporation School Safety Specialist: Trained by State Safety Academy. Responsible for school safety plans, crisis drills, and other required drills. Responsible for grants related to safety and drug free schools.

Qualifications Requirements: Valid Indiana Building Administrators License

Education and/or Experience: Master’s Degree.
