The FSQAT will drive Food Safety, Quality Control and Quality Assurance initiatives at South Mill Mushroom Processing, Packing and IQF facilities. Duties include but are not limited to pre-op inspections, ATP-environmental & product sampling, verification of production activities, CCP validation checks, internal audits, enforcing GMP’s and standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Pre-operation Inspection:
• Cleaning effectiveness: utilize ATP swabs to verify cleaning.
• Tool calibration: responsible for calibrating thermometers daily.
• Blade inspection
• Temperature verification.
• Conduct metal detector checks and verify production’s hourly checks.
• Hourly and Daily production record documentation, Food Safety, and Quality inspections
• Generate work orders as needed.
• Document Review: Responsible for Food Safety and customer-specific document review on the floor (real-time) and at the end of the shift; generate corrective actions as needed.
• Sample collection is as defined by the direct supervisor.
• Shelf-life sampling: This department is responsible for collecting and tracking quality data throughout the shelf-life of fresh products and logging it into the KPI metrics.
• Internal audits: participate in internal audits, generate work orders, and provide feedback to responsible areas.
• Standard Operating Procedures: Identify tasks that require procedures that do not currently exist, communicate with leadership, and assist with procedure development to close the gap.
• Coordinate employees' efforts in compliance with all GMPs as specified in Company and customer guidelines.
• Assist with annual refresher training for all Production employees.
• Participate in the Food Defense Re-Assessment.
• Assist with 3rd party audits.
• Train Employees to comply with customer requirements.
• Assist with projects as directed by the Food Safety leadership team.
• Shift handoff between technicians

Preferred Skills:

• Good verbal and written ability in English and Spanish.
• Ability to function well in a team environment.
• Strong public speaking ability, especially in teaching adult learners.
