Description

Location: Hospice
Department: AR - HOSPICE
Schedule: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift, 8:00am - 4:30pm

POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Development Manager is responsible to promote high quality and cost-effective clinical care through proper implementation of clinical processes within the agency in compliance with state and federal regulations. Oversees daily clinical information system operations within Hospice, Langdale Hospice House and Tree House departments, as well as collaboration with billing specialist to ensure accuracy and timeliness of billing processes to ensure reimbursement. Responsible for the management and oversight of all referrals/admissions to hospice and palliative care. As a member of the agency’s leadership team, participates and collaborates in the development of strategic planning for capital/operational budgets for the agency. Assist in initial orientation with new staff members and provides processes to ensure annual education requirements are met. Responsible for oversight of the agency’s infection control program.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Required Bachelor’s degree in Nursing OR Master’s degree in Social Work with state licensure from accredited schools.
  • Required licensure by the State of Georgia – RN or LCSW.
  • Minimum of five years of health care experience, some of which must have been in hospice or palliative care.
  • Demonstrated current knowledge of leadership and management principals with a minimum of 3-5 years previous management or supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of State and Federal licensure guidelines and regulations for Hospice and Palliative Care preferred
  • Must possess excellent human relations/interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Must possess strong clinical skills in assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care
  • Demonstrated ability to work as member of interdisciplinary team in meeting the unique needs of the terminally and chronically ill
  • Required strong computer skills with knowledge of/experience with Clinical Information Systems and Microsoft Office as well as computer hard ware and software
  • Demonstrated understanding of and adherence to the hospice philosophy and nationally-based standards of care, including age-specific issues of pediatric and geriatric populations
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to and work with persons of diverse cultural backgrounds and lifestyles
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, handle pressure and delicate situations
  • Demonstrated autonomy, organization, assertiveness, and flexibility and cooperation in performing job responsibilities
  • Must have current GA driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
  • Must have current CPR
WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION

Primarily office settings on campus of HOSG. Generally regular work schedule during normal office hours, with possibility of irregular hours upon request. Periods of moderate to high levels of stress. Occasional overnight/out of town educational workshops, approximately 1-2X per year. May be called upon to assist with patient care in periods of high census or other staff illness/absence. Possible exposure to blood and body fluids including infectious diseases. May require considerable mental effort to assess, plan, and make or recommend decisions in complex environment. Duties require standing, bending, stooping, walking and some lifting, normally less than 25 lbs, pushing objects. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to operate office equipment to include FAX, copier, computer, and telecommunication devices.
