SOUTH FLORIDA EYE INSTITUTE is Hiring an Ophthalmic Technician Near Tamarac, FL

JOB DESCRIPTION

Full Eye Care Facility located in Tamarac, FL looking for an Ophthalmic Technician with at least 2-years experience. Full time, permanent position Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Job descriptions includes:

  • Experience working with EMR system.
  • Obtains and records accurate patient history, chief complaint and scribes physician findings.
  • Work up patients by taking visual acuity, pupil check, ocular pressure and other tests.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform functional ocular measurements of the eye such as color vision testing, Stereo testing, BAT testing, schirmer tests, Amsler grid tests and other tests.
  • Administers topical ophthalmic medications.
  • Performs lensometry and refraction.
  • Perform Diagnostic Tests using Visual Field, OCT, OPD, HRT, Fundus Photos,

Corneal Pachymetry, Corneal Topography, A-Scan, B-Scan, Lensmeter, etc.

  • Assist ophthalmologist with laser and other in-office surgical procedures.
  • Understands basic ocular pharmacology: names of meds and their uses.
  • Schedule patients for surgery.
  • Order Contact Lenses.
  • Handles Pharmacy Calls.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Must have 2-years experience as an Ophthalmic Technician.
  • Must possess excellent computer skills and have EMR experience.
  • Must be Bilingual (speak Spanish and English).
  • Must have excellent patient service skills and be a team player.
  • Communicates with patients directly or via telephone to respond appropriately and professionally to their needs.
  • Must be presentable and courteous.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
