SOUTH FLORIDA EYE CARE CENTER is Hiring a Remote Front Desk Representative

American Vision Group is currently seeking a Front Desk Representative to join our team. We are a reputable national eyecare provider that works with some of the country's most respected eye care practices. We aim to help healthcare providers concentrate on delivering exceptional medical care. Your primary responsibilities revolve around customer service. As a Front Desk Representative, you serve as the first point of contact for patients when they enter a medical facility. They greet and check-in patients, get patient information, collect payments, assist with necessary paperwork, and fulfill other customer service responsibilities. Our perfect candidate has prior experience, preferably in a medical office, and is familiar with medical terminology. The position reports directly to the Practice Administrator and Front Desk Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Welcome and direct patients.

· Assist patients with paperwork.

· Manage patient complaints and feedback.

· Collect and verify patient information and insurance coverage.

· Manage written, verbal and electronic communications.

· Screening incoming calls to provide the proper routing to other departments when necessary.

· Entering data for patients into the Officemate software

· Answering patient questions about billing and payments.

· Registering, scheduling and re-scheduling patients for initial appointments and follow-ups.

· Receiving and processing cash and credit card payments for medical services rendered.

· Reviewing patient accounts, identifying delinquent accounts, and collecting overdue payments.

· Informing patients about delays and waiting times.

· Obtaining patients’ addresses, contact details, insurance information, and medical histories.

· Updating and verifying patient information at every visit.

· Assisting patients in filling out patient history forms, consent forms, and payment contract forms, when necessary.

· Check out patients and schedule appointments for new and recurring patients based on Physician and patient’s availability.

· Answer multi-line phones and either direct the caller to the appropriate party or handle the caller's needs yourself.

· Provide patients with intake and new patient forms, copies of our office policies and legally required documents.

· Maintain hard copy patient records and files stored in our EMR and practice management systems.

· Call patients to remind them of upcoming appointments and to help them schedule testing if needed.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS :

· Excellent active listening skills and a strong service orientation.

· Computer skills.

· EMR systems.

· Experience working as a Patient Representative, Front Desk and/or Clerical.

· Professional manner and appearance.

· Meticulous attention to detail.

· Familiarity with medical terminology.

· Strong communication skills.

· Data entry skills.

· Customer service experience.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

· High school diploma or GED.

· 1 years' experience in healthcare field.

· Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks based on importance.

· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

WORKING CONDITIONS PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
