South Coast Business Employment Corp is Hiring a Bilingual Workforce Specialist - Spanish Near Woodburn, OR

As a WorkSource Oregon team member, the Bilingual Workforce Specialist is responsible for conducting in-depth assessments to determine the needs of both job seekers and employers, develop comprehensive service plans which support high growth and high demand jobs, monitors job placement progress, and provides retention services in order to meet all common performance measures.
This position is bilingual and requires duties to be done in both English and Spanish. Position is contingent upon passing test(s) evaluating proficiency in the bilingual requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

This position will primarily work with low income adults and dislocated workers. This position involves case management tasks, client engagement, and advocacy and referral services. The primary responsibilities will be working with clients on career readiness, post secondary education preparation, soft skills, job search assistance, resume development, work experience placements, and providing resources and referrals while adhering to policy expectations for case management, program compliance, and documentation collection.
This position requires a high level of organization and attention to detail, while providing excellent customer service in a compassionate, resourceful, knowledgeable manner. This position will provide direct employment and training services, including career counseling (assessment of interests and abilities, job search strategies, and guidance related to education and vocational training), monitoring and ensuring program compliance, and providing resources and tools to assist individuals to overcome barriers and achieve self-sufficiency and overall stability. 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or any acceptable combination of experience and training which demonstrates the ability to work with adult participants and with private sector employers in both English and Spanish.

One year of the experience must include one of the following:

  • Employment planning and/or placement activities
  • Assessing the needs, strengths, skills, etc., of participants
  • Profiling jobs to define the skills and abilities needed by employees to meet employer needs
  • Assessing multiple community services to assist participants’ problem solving activities including action planning, identifying resources, goals and timelines to resolve issues
  • Composing and preparing technical written documents such as letter or memos to explain rules, policies, benefits, etc., or preparing case notes for documentation purposes
Most competitive candidates will have:
  • Knowledge of employment and training programs, especially Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act.
  • Ability to work within a team while maintaining high individual performance standards.
  • Must have ability to organize and prioritize efforts.
  • Strong computer skills, including Word and Excel.
  • Must have reliable transportation and maintain a valid driver’s license for state of residency, personal auto liability coverage, and a driving record permitting coverage under the corporate liability policy. All employees driving for work purposes regardless of whether driving a personal or agency vehicle must complete the agency’s driving approval process before they drive for work.
