SALARY RANGE: $35,360 - $50,394
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Position may include on-call and may include some evening, weekend and/or overnight work.
LOCATION: South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities, Greenville, SC
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma and experience in information technology, electronics technology systems, or other related areas. An associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for required experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITES: Knowledge of network services and data communications. Knowledge of methods of network design and equipment configuration requirements. Knowledge of computer systems analysis, design, testing, debugging, and maintenance techniques. Ability to establish effective working relationships with vendors, management, staff and users. Must be able to hear, speak audibly, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must be able to work variable hours and shifts, if needed and the job may require on-call duties.
SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES:
Install, configure, and maintain network equipment, such as routers, switches, and firewalls. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise, such as network congestion or connectivity problems. Assist with network security protocols, such as firewalls, VPN, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. Support and maintain the school’s wireless network, including access points and controllers. Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshooting network connectivity issues, and resolving software and hardware problems. Work with the senior network administrator to plan and implement new network solutions to meet the school’s evolving needs. Create and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, IP address allocation, and network inventory. Keep up-to-date with the latest network technologies, trends, and best practices. Work with vendors and contractors to procure hardware and software, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships. Performs other assigned duties as required, including assisting with IT-related projects, providing technical support for events, and performing other tasks as assigned.
