SOURCEWISE is Hiring a Full-Time Community Outreach Specialist II (Volunteer Coordinator) Near Santa Clara, CA

Sourcewise is seeking a Community Outreach Specialist II in the Community Development Department. The individual will assist the Director of Community Development with leading volunteer program development, outreach, coordination, such as the Intergenerational Activities program. The goal of the Community Development Department is to increase resources to support its programs serving the aging population in Santa Clara County.

This position will lead and work in collaboration with the Community Outreach Specialist I (volunteer coordinator) to grow the volunteer program. The lead Community Outreach Specialist II will be responsible for project/program management to implement intergenerational volunteer activities, including ongoing development of the program manual, workflows, as well as recruitment, training and coordination of activities. Working with marketing to develop materials for outreach and recruitment of corporate and community partners. Increase volunteer engagement and client program participation and satisfaction and ensure safety. Work in partnership with the Director to develop CRM database and ensure accurate data entry. Complete program monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to meet goals. Lead the planning and execution of volunteer appreciation events and other departmental activities as needed.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft 365, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Teams

Preferred

  • Experience with project or program management
  • Experience with CRM or other database management systems (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Knowledge in the field of gerontology or working with older adults.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude
  • Demonstrated capacity to work efficiently in a multi-cultural context and experience working in ethnically, racially diverse and LGBTQ communities.

Essential Responsibilities:

Project Management, Outreach, Coordination and Engagement

  • Lead in the development, implementation and coordination of intergenerational, senior volunteer development and/or other volunteer activities, policies, procedures, safety and training requirements for volunteers.
  • Work in partnership with Community Outreach Specialist I to meet existing and new volunteer program goals.
  • Outreach, recruitment and engagement with corporate and community partners.
  • Work in collaboration with Marketing and volunteer consultants to develop program materials in print, electronic and social media.
  • Work in partnership with Director and Salesforce consultants to develop CRM database fields, reporting and apps for Community Development contacts, volunteer projects, events and more.
  • Lead the planning and execution of volunteer appreciation events and other department events as needed.

Reporting

  • Submit regular volunteer monthly, quarterly and annual reports to Director for review.
  • Track progress of volunteer grants awarded including, client and volunteer data, service units, pre and post survey outcomes, expenditures and summarize progress.

Additional Responsibilities

Not all primary responsibilities listed will be required to immediately be performed. The Community Outreach Specialist II will have the opportunity to grow and develop skills by taking on additional duties.

Availability

Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm., in our office located at 3100 De La Cruz Blvd, Suite 310, Santa Clara with the ability for Hybrid Work from Home one day per week and on weeks where there is a scheduled Saturday volunteer project, two work from home days. Ability to work two Saturdays a month during busy seasons.

Reporting and Working Relationships

The Community Outreach Specialist II reports directly to the Director of Community Development and will work closely with the Community Outreach Specialist I. The lead will work with other department staff as approved by the Director.
