Sourcepoint is Hiring a Community Education Coordinator – Part Time Near Delaware, OH

The Community Education Coordinator plans, organizes, and implements evidence-based and evidence-informed programs at SourcePoint, online, and throughout the greater Delaware County area in collaboration with community partners. These educational programs help people 55 and better learn new skills, engage with the community, and grow in their lives. Such programming may include but is not limited to falls prevention, retirement readiness, healthy living, navigating longer lives, fraud prevention, and caregiver support. This part-time position is approximately 19 hours per week on a flexible schedule.

Reports to: Community Engagement Manager | FLSA: Part-time non-exempt position | Pay range $20-$21.50/hour

Essential Job Functions

Program Planning, Organizing & Implementation (65%)

  • Plan community education programs throughout the year in various areas of the county
  • Coordinate all aspects of program, including locations, materials, co-facilitators, and guest speakers
  • Schedule and use SourcePoint On-the-Go Van
  • Provide necessary information for program promotion and scheduling in the SourcePoint CRM system within established timetables and procedures
  • Deliver/co-facilitate various programs, including evidence-based programs
  • Complete required program documentation and submit it to responsible parties

Program Development & Maintenance (25%)

  • Obtain and maintain applicable facilitator and master trainer certification(s)
  • Manage volunteers who facilitate community education offerings
  • Network with community experts in related fields; be an active member of the Stepping Up to Prevent Falls coalition including Falls Prevention Awareness Day, and other groups as determined
  • Collaborate with community partners for the purpose of, but not limited to, expanding access to and scope of educational programs
  • Maintain records and documentation related to community education programs
  • Assist with new educational programming to meet the needs of SourcePoint members and those 55 and better in the greater Delaware County area
  • Assist with related grant writing and reporting

Assists with Departmental Needs (10%)

  • FAMCare client information entry assistance
  • Stand-in facilitator for SourcePoint programs such as insurance, caregiver, etc.
  • Function as Person in Charge per schedule
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Professional familiarity with the issues surrounding aging, such as health maintenance and chronic disease awareness, legal and financial planning, family caregiver challenges, Medicare education, and resources available to older adults in the support and maintenance of their health and welfare
  • Excellent communication, networking, and public speaking skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of partners, including fellow staff members, community organizations, volunteers, clients, and human services professionals
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
  • Fluency with basic software products, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to promote a positive work culture within the organization, project a positive image of the organization in the community, and to routinely interact with the general public
  • Ability to be creative and deal with ambiguity and change on a routine basis, including situational flexibility and excellent problem-solving skills
Education and Experience
  • Associate degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred in education, social work, nursing, other health profession, or a related field;
  • Minimum of two years of professional experience, including program development, coordination, implementation, training, or education, preferably with adults
Essential Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs. regularly without assistance
  • Ability to drive to and from program sites; ability to drive the SourcePoint On-the-Go Van
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends, when necessary
