Role: Senior Project Engineer

Location: Manchester CT (Onsite)

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Job Description

Senior Project Engineers are the primary technical resource, both internal and external, for all product categories developed and supported by the organization.

The Senior Project Engineer works in conjunction with all internal teams as the key technical advisor and product advocate.

  • Must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of product creation and support.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships, both internal and external, throughout the entire product life cycle.

The Senior Project Engineer also actively participates with companywide team to enhance and develop our culture of respect, honesty, professionalism, and teamwork.

ORGANIZATION:

• Reports directly to Engineering Manager

• Provides engineering leadership in new product implementation and existing product support

• Collaborates with Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing and Quality Teams

CORE FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain expert level of product knowledge and applications.
  • Articulate technology and product capabilities to both business and technical users.
  • Provide design and specification development, creation, and support to customers as well as internal teams.
  • Respond to and provide functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFQs

DETAILS OF FUNCTION:

  • Listen, understand and convey customer requirements.
  • Lead in the design and development of products and tools necessary to meet, or exceed, customer requirements.
  • Perform technical/ product training for customer and internal teams.
  • Create and maintain all required technical documentation for project/product implementation and support.
  • Travel to customer locations to validate project start-up when requested and provide customer support.
  • Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission, values, and financial objectives.
  • Maintain professional business relationships with all company stakeholders.
  • Provide status of ongoing projects and future projects.
  • Identify customer's needs and sales opportunities to help future growth.

GOALS:

  • Become the technical liaison between the customer and all internal departments
  • Become the technical expert for all products produced and supported
  • Become the application expert for serviced markets
  • Highly satisfied customers both internal and external
  • Good Corporate Citizenship

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5-7 years Engineering experience
  • 1–3 years Engineering experience in machine design or robotics markets
  • Proven Project Management skills
  • Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Proficient in 3D CADD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
  • Experience with FEA/FEMM software
  • MathCad or similar symbolic calculation software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with AS 9100 and IECEX certifications
  • Familiarity with magnetics and electromechanical systems and their applications
  • Create mechanical drawings with GD&T per ANSI Y14.5M
  • Available for travel when required
