Responsibilities:

The Automotive Dealership Parts Manager will be responsible for:

Inventory Management:

  • Managing and maintaining accurate parts inventory levels to ensure availability and minimize overstock or shortage issues.
  • Utilizing industry-leading inventory control systems to track parts usage, orders, and returns efficiently.
  • Conducting regular physical inventory checks and reconciling any discrepancies promptly.

Customer Service:

  • Providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers by promptly fulfilling parts requests and addressing inquiries.
  • Assisting service advisors and technicians in identifying the right parts for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Resolving customer concerns related to parts orders, availability, and pricing in a professional and customer-focused manner.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervising parts department staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Encouraging a collaborative and cohesive team environment that values open communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Setting clear performance goals and providing ongoing coaching and development to enhance employee skills and productivity.

Vendor Relations and Procurement:

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with parts suppliers and manufacturers to ensure timely delivery and competitive pricing.
  • Negotiating favorable terms and pricing agreements with vendors while seeking opportunities for cost savings.
  • Monitoring market trends and industry developments to make informed decisions regarding parts sourcing.

Budget and Financial Management:

  • Creating and managing the parts department budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and adherence to financial goals.
  • Tracking and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) related to parts sales, gross margins, and expenses.
  • Implementing strategies to drive revenue growth and profitability in the parts department.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant industry regulations, safety protocols, and environmental standards.
  • Managing hazardous materials and waste disposal in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Promoting a culture of safety and ensuring all employees follow safety guidelines and practices.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (5 years) as a Parts Manager in an automotive dealership or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive parts, components, and their applications.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and software.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail.
  • Financial acumen and budget management experience.
  • Familiarity with vendor relations and negotiation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
