Job Title: HSE Compliance Specialist

Location: Eau Claire, WI (with travel to plant locations)

Position Summary: The Health, Safety, and Environment Compliance position works closely with the operational team leaders, location HSE representatives, employees, and the US Health Safety and Environment Manager. The role’s core responsibilities are to ensure the effective implementation of the Source Energy Services (SES’s) Health and Safety Management system, MSHA compliance, conducting employee training and presentations, in an effort to continually maintain compliance, improve performance and reduce loss.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Manage and monitor the SES Health Safety & Environment Management System and ensure effective implementation through programs and processes.
  • Ensure operational compliance with local, state, and Mining Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) rule and regulations.
  • Develop programs and processes to ensure compliance to the SES HSE Management system and relative regulatory requirements.
  • Encourage active employee and management participation in the Health & Safety program.
  • Conduct safety training or education programs and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.
  • Manage the operations safety training compliance to ensure a proper level of engagement.
  • Conduct facility inspections to proactively seek out unsafe hazards and behaviors.
  • Coach the operational leaders in conducting accident investigations, with attention given to the identification of root causes and effective corrective actions.
  • Respond to and serves as a contact in the event of any serious incidents at company location.
  • Assists in performing safety audits.
  • Complete admirative duties of the health and safety program, including MSHA requirements.
  • Scheduling/organizing regulatory testing
  • Complete administrative duties related to the HSE programs, including running reports, looking for data trends, and identifying engagement gaps.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Formal education or combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including communication and organizational skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft suite of programs and including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
  • Effective team player with the ability to communicate well with many different groups.

  • Fundamental understanding of MSHA regulations and issues (preferred, but not mandatory).
