Sony Electronics has an excitingfull-timeopportunity for Senior Product Compliance Manager. Product Compliance are growing area of importance at Sony. We are seeking a highly motivated & skilled professional to manage the product compliance requirements in North America as a critical leader in Sustainability and Product Compliance department.

As a Senior Product Compliance Manager, he/she is responsible forplanning, developing, and implementing Sony's technical compliance capabilities according to local regulations and standards in the U.S. and Canada. He/she will serve as a subject matter expert for North American market and lead a small team of professionals to monitor developments, establish policies and procedures and manage risk mitigation programs for product compliance. This position The ideal person requires strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of product compliance requirements with solid analytical skills, and excellent ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with various internal/external stakeholders and management.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead a small team of product compliance professionals, supporting Sony's business objectives while ensuring product compliance in the U.S. and Canada.

  • Monitor changes and developments around product safety and EMC/RF requirements in the US and Canada including UL, CSA, FCC, ISED, FDA, Health Canada, and CPSC as well as product energy efficiency requirements and engage in advocacy efforts as needed.

  • Develop action plans and establish policies and procedures to address new requirements in collaboration with Sony Headquarter Product Compliance Dept, Business Groups and other internal and external stakeholders.

  • Assess regulatory requirement in collaboration with Law Dept and Gov. Affairs and provide guidance and recommendations to Business Groups and Sales & Marketing teams to ensure compliance of new products and services with various requirements.

  • Establish and implement a compliance assurance process relating to sales and marketing of products in the US and Canada. Provide training and conduct internal audit to ensure effectiveness of the process.

  • Provide education to Sony Business Groups and Sales Company about present and future product safety/EMC/RF/Energy Efficiency compliance requirements and trends in North America to help guide the direction of the organization.

  • Identify emerging compliance risks and opportunities that may impact business in a proactive manner and develop strategies and action plans in support of company's values, business objectives and direction. Embrace ambiguity and drive clarity across teams and organizations toward best in class product compliance management operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • A minimum of 10 years' of work experience around product safety and EMC compliance in relevant industry required

  • Must have thorough understanding of regulatory frameworks as well as in-depth knowledge of EMC/RF and product safety standards and requirements

  • Must be detailed and results oriented with excellent problem-solving and project management capabilities

  • Must be capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment in an efficient and effective manner with limited supervision

  • Advanced interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills required. Must be skilled with verbal and written communication and be able to interact and collaborate constructively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders

  • Proficiency with MS Windows based applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Electrical engineering, or similar fields of study preferred

  • Experience with product safety/EMC testing and process analysis is a plus

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $127,000 to $170,000. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for a bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package including healthcare benefits (medical, dental, and vision), paid medical leave after three months of employment,a 401k plan with matching company contributions, vacation time, education assistance, student loan assistance program, eighty hours of paid sick leave time annually, and up to twelve weeks paid parental leave after six months of employment.
