Position: Process Technician
Shifts: 1st Shift (8am - 4pm) or 3rd Shift (11:55 pm-8 am)
Location: Wixom, MI
Pay: Starting at $19.88-$23.37 based on experience

While reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible to perform all phases of mold installation, secondary equipment and material handling. They must have the ability to work with various teams and successfully perform basic machine & mold PM’s. The successful candidate for this position takes pride in hands-on and analytical abilities, organization skills and attention to detail.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Knows, understands, and follows all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to the position.
• Responsible for accurate Completion of the Mold Set Up / Job Verification Checklist
• Assists with relieving Production Associates for breaks
• Preform all Material Handling duties as assigned
• Preform all phases of Mold Installation and Secondary Equipment.
• Basic Machine & mold PM’s
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
• Overtime required at times.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Expect Incumbent to be Sonoco mission driven
• Injection molding background would be helpful not mandatory
• Must have good computer skills; Excel, Word, Windows, Internet, etc
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position, secondary education is preferred
• Have a “get it done” attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks
• Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed
• Ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial to success
• Must have excellent math skills, English language reading and writing skills, basic mechanical skills and strong interpersonal skills
• Forklift experience
• Ability to lift 55 lbs. and able to stand for extended periods of time.
