Service Engineer – Third Level 

sonnen seeks to hire a Service Engineer to join the Research and Development team based out of our Atlanta Innovation Hub to aid our North America team in the proper troubleshooting and root cause analysis for our Energy Storage Systems (ESS) and subcomponents. 

Overview

The Service Engineer (Third Level) is responsible for the following tasks:

• Root-cause analysis and solution to battery Systems not performing as expected
• Remote troubleshooting of issues related to software, hardware, installation, and commissioning of battery Systems
• Provide technical support to our customer support US
• Supporting the evaluation of new software rollouts – Analysis and detection of new errors and faults
• Support on the creation of service-relevant instructions and thus ensure the transfer of knowledge to our service country organization US.
• Ensures technical issues (service tickets) are resolved.
• Act as interface between the US country organization and the Global Support Department related to technical issues, reproducing and sharing bugs.
• Become an expert in all technical aspects (software and hardware) of batteries, inverters, power meters, solar panels, energy software and other Sonnen accessories.
• Others as required by the organization

Basic Qualifications:

• Electrical Engineering, sciences or comparable qualifications like certified engineer
• Alternatively, Technical studies/training with several years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience in technical service, preferable in energy storage
• Good understanding of electrical systems
• Excellent customer and service orientation combined with good communication, team skills, and social competence
• You are ready to continuously further your education in the field of renewable energy technology and energy storage systems
• You possess knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
• Experience with CRM systems, case/ticketing systems, and bug-tracking systems
• MS-Office skills; Tableau, Salesforce and SAP experiences are welcome
• Willingness to travel to Europe, Asia, and North America
