This part-time position entails making deliveries of weaned pigs and supplies to various nurseries, nucleus farms, and performance testing centers throughout Nebraska and South Dakota. Deliveries will be made in company-provided pickups with gooseneck or bumper-pulled trailers. In most situations, pigs will be sandbagged (i.e., unloaded one-at-a-time by hand) with strict adherence to specific animal handling and biosecurity protocols to ensure the welfare of our pigs and the health of our farms. Candidates must have a clean driving record, flexible schedule, and be comfortable driving in winter road conditions. They must also be comfortable driving long distances between stops. Attention to detail and a focus on working safely is a must-have for this position. Overnight hotel stays (estimated once per week) will be required.
