JOB SUMMARY:
To provide high quality, person-centered direct care and training for the support of individuals with behavioral, developmental, and/or mental health needs served under a waiver. These individuals may reside with family, or in supervised living arrangements, up to and including 24-hour settings. This is a direct services position which provides behavioral support and training as outlined in the individual’s Support Plan and Support Plan Addendum. This position is part of an interdisciplinary treatment team, which develops comprehensive treatment plans and monitors program outcomes. The position in designed to provide direct care and implement treatment strategies developed in the team process, with a focus on behavioral intervention.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is primarily community based, working with clients and other professionals in various settings, including family homes, day programs, group homes, or other community settings. Staff may have exposure to disruptive, aggressive, or self-injurious behavior on the part of individuals in that setting. Staff may additionally have exposure to weather, or other environmental conditions in these settings. While clients or family members are asked not to smoke or have animals in the immediate programming areas of the home, there may be some exposure to cigarette smoke, pet dander, cleaning or other chemical products, etc. A company car is generally available for staff in driving to the needed community location. Some office time will be required for completion of notes and attending supervisory meetings. Most documentation is completed on the computer through the electronic medical record.
