About the Job :

Supports the operations, maintenance, and construction of buildings by maintaining the appearance and integrity by patching, filling and painting walls, ceilings, doors and frames.

What You’ll Do :

Repairs all surfaces of the area to be painted through cleaning, scraping, and sanding, using paint removers and stripers and using fillers for a smooth, clean finish.

Prepares all sheet rock joints and corners after new construction or renovations occur, including finish sanding each joint for application of paint.

Paints all kinds of surfaces which can be painted with the particular type of paint necessary, including using lacquers and varnishes on various classes of woods to highlight the distinctive grains.

Hangs all types of wallcoverings including paper, vinyl, cloth, and ceramic tile.

Works with stripping solution and other chemicals. Ensures proper ventilation and exhaust avenues.

Applies coats of paint, varnish, stains, enamels, or lacquer to decorate and protect interior and exterior surfaces, trimmings and fixtures using paint brushes, rollers, scrapers, and spray guns.

Refinishes furniture and fixtures.

Cuts stencils and stencil surfaces with lettering to create signage.

Who You Are :

Education : High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience : A minimum of three years in field work associated with the construction industry and / or the manufacturing of wood products preferred.
